Picture of library at 88 W. Church St, Newark, OH

The Library’s local history collection focuses on acquiring information and resources that reflect the historical and cultural development of Licking County.  The collection contains books, maps, photographs, microfilm and other unique publications in both hard-copy and digitized formats.

All of the library’s online local history information is housed under our Licking County Library Local History wiki page. This resource is constantly growing and contains a wealth of information on Licking County.

The majority of the hard-copy local history collection is housed at the Main Library including the Parkinson Papers and Licking County High School yearbooks.  If you have any questions or need assistance with your research please call an Adult Services librarian at 740-349-5520 or email
